This weekend is a casual one for the DeWevers and as the work week begins to slow, we've begun to take back some of hobbies. Today was a nice time to mosey around the house and work on previously-ignored projects. We finally moved the office downstairs, installed light switches in the basement, and Matt tackled the apple pie featured in last month's edition of Southern Style magazine. This is his Paula Dean picture. He also made a coffee cake and served me breakfast in bed: faboulous! I found a use for all the donated brie I still have in the fridge... yummy savory tarts. We are hosting cell group tonight.
On Wednesday we'll drive to New Hampshire for Isaac's birthday, a barn raising & some time with John & Priscilla. The months have been pretty status quo, but John is eating less these days and we wanted to grab a quick visit before the Christmas pilgrimage.
What have we done this Summer?
- Random house projects: drip hoses galore, gutter caps, bits of landscaping...
- Visited Jason in DC, meeting his fiance. The wedding is sometime in January.
- Hosted my mom for 10 days. Also visited Colonial Williamsburg for the 1st time.
- Installed HVAC!! Yes, friends, we'll have heat this winter!
- Matt is taking a community college class for business management.
- Fianlly bought a lawn mower & a ladder.
- Recently did a liver cleanse.
- I baptized the cordless phone in the washing machine... so we bought a new one.
