Still Waiting

Alicia (that's me) left Virginia on Wednesday morning with the Nate Myles family, who were en route to their home in New Hampshire. The 13 hour trip was uneventful, made enjoyable with good company and fast food. We were also pleased to learn that John was "released" from captivity at Lakes Region General Hospital with instructions to get blood work done the following day to determine appropriate medication doseage. Once back at home on Depot St, Matt stopped in to see some old friends & work colleagues at Harris Family Furniture. They knew about John's condition and asked if he would appreciate an ajustable bed (which they had in stock and could easily donate to the family). What a blessing!!! Halelujah, the LORD knows what we need before we even ask. John can sit up, raise his legs, lie flat, or whatever... because the bed was delievered & set up in the same day! John is currently lounging on a queen-sized bed downstairs in the TV room. He has a good view of the kitchen too.

We anticipated a prognosis & diagnosis meeting today (Thurdsay) at 2pm with the doctors, but received word that the tests were still being done on his tissue samples taken earlier in the week on Tuesday. This was frustrating, but we are thankful he is able to really rest at home and comfortable; it's so nice to be together as a family! I must confess that seeing John in this state was a shock-- in the 4 months since Christmas, he has become very frail looking & boney. His eyes have a very dark pool look to them, but he's the same old John... always making us chuckle.

The meeting has been reschuled for Tuesday, but Matt & I will be back in Virginia by then. We plan to head out early on Saturday & enjoy breakfast with my parents on our trip back to Virginia.
Tomorrow we will be taking care of loose ends around the house... such as mulching the flower beds and replacing screen on a few windows and the porch doors. The weather should cooperate though, there's almost no snow left on the ground! Eveyone here is looking forward to consistantly warmer days.
